CEO, BrightHR and Group Chief Operating Officer

A leading authority on employment law and HR, Alan is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD with 18 years’ experience in employee relations, a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the CMI, a certified practitioner and Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute, and a member of the Canadian Human Resource Professional Association. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Forbes Human Resources Council.

Alastair Brown

Chief Technology Officer

Alastair is responsible for driving forward BrightHR’s expansion and managing the business’s technological needs. He has extensive experience in transforming businesses through technological and process change.

Thea Watson

Chief International Growth and Marketing Officer

Thea is a strategic marketer with over 15 years of experience, having spent most of her career working in the HR and recruitment industry. She joined us from Hays, the world's leading specialist recruitment company, as the acting CMO and Global Customer Experience Director. Joining Hays in 2012, Thea spent 4 years establishing the marketing function for the Hays Americas region, with key highlights being leading the brand and marketing strategy for the acquisition of Veredus, an IT recruitment firm in the US, launching its New York office and establishing Hays as a market leader in construction nationwide. In Canada, she built the brand from a top 10 position to a top 3 in 5 different specialisms, growing from Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa and Vancouver, to having a nationwide footprint including Montreal and Winnipeg.

Jenny Marsden

Associate Director of Service

Jenny has delivered multiple online offerings across the Peninsula Group during her time here, ultimately moving to the flagship global product, BrightHR. She has helped the organisation reach 100,000 active users worldwide and overseen the BrightHR app to make it the highest-rated HR app in the Apple app store. Jenny has worked to ensure small business owners can easily engage with BrightHR’s innovative range of products, such as the Furlough Navigator and Back to Work Navigator, helping keep them running throughout the pandemic.

Alex Maher

Director of Engineering

Alex is a hands-on technology leader with a passion for delivering quality. He is a proven specialist in Web and Integration Technologies with over 20 years’ experience delivering to clients such as Peninsula Group, The LateRooms Group, Fujitsu, Vodafone, United Utilities, Marks & Spencer, Tesco and Defra. Alex demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and believes strongly in continuous improvement and mentoring of others.

Dan Welbourn

Chief Finance Officer

Dan is an accomplished finance leader known for consistently delivering strong financial performance and leading strategic business transformations. With a focus on partnering with senior stakeholders, he drives financial performance, creates shareholder value, and facilitates successful integration of acquisitions. His extensive prior experience in finance leadership spans various industry sectors, including logistics, distribution, FMCG, chemicals, technology, and telecoms.

Mark McMinn

Sales Director - Canada

Mark is a dynamic global leader, sales professional, and mentor with over 20 years of experience in achieving high performance. His success is underpinned by core values that focus on mentoring, nurturing and fostering talent. He began his time at BrightHR leading the UK function and achieved significant year-on-year growth. He also supported the successful rollout of BrightHR in the Irish and Australian markets. Currently, Mark is leading the Canadian function and driving hyper-growth in the North American market.

Jayde Stott

Associate Director of Sales - UK

Jayde is a highly accomplished sales director with over 18 years of experience in the banking, finance, and hospitality industries. Before joining us, she was the Head of Sales at Deliveroo, the fastest-growing European start-up. She successfully developed and optimised the inside sales teams at Deliveroo during her five years there, expanding the company into 30 new regions. At BrightHR, Jayde has proven time and again that she can achieve the impossible by motivating her team with her exceptional communication skills, tenacity, and ability to deliver results.

Callam Molloy

Associate Sales Director - Australia & New Zealand

Callam is an experienced sales leader, with a global perspective and cultural insight. He has a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing sales teams and achieving ambitious quarterly targets using a unique blend of data analysis and sales coaching. Currently leading a team of over 80 sales professionals in Australia and New Zealand and has worked for the Peninsula Group and BrightHR for over 7 years.
